2. Website eXtractor

The user-friendly control panel of this offline browser allows you to view the structure of a website with an online and offline sitemap or create an exact duplicate of a website on a disc. Select documents by type, names, or other filtering options. You can download only the first few pages of any given site and skip over parts you don’t need.

3. SiteSucker

SiteSucker is a Mac program that automatically downloads websites as well as changes to them from the internet. It copies the pages, images, style sheets, PDFs, and other elements to your hard drive. Just enter a URL into SiteSucker, and it downloads an entire website. 

SiteSucker requires Mac OS X 10.11 or higher and is available from the Mac App Store. Earlier versions are available from the SiteSucker website for older Mac operating systems. 


Grab-a-Site is one of two offline browsers from Blue Squirrel. Grab-a-Site copies one page or an entire site to your computer, along with all the supporting files, including graphic files, videos, and sound files. You can schedule the download at off-peak hours. This program can grab files from multiple websites at the same time.

Grab-a-Site takes the site content written in PHP, ASP, JR, and Cold Fusion and turns them into static HTML.

A free trial version is available. Grab-a-Site is compatible with Win98, ME, NT, XP, Vista, and Windows 7.

5.WebWhacker 5

Blue Squirrel’s second offline browser is WebWhacker 5. It copies entire websites to your hard drive for offline review, to serve as a training site for students, or as an archive. Like Grab-a-Site it can be set up to run at off-peak hours. The software monitors websites for changes and updates you on a daily or weekly basis. It provides you with a list of any broken links. WebWhacker duplicates the directory structure of a website.

A free trial version is available. WebWhacker 5 is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7.

6. HTTrack

HTTrack offline browser utility lets you pull entire websites from the internet to a local directory. It does a fantastic job of retrieving HTML and images to your computer. It also captures the original site’s link structure. HTTrack is configurable to customize your downloads. HTTrack doesn’t support Flash sites or intensive Java and Javascript sites.

WinHTTrack is compatible with Windows 2000 through Windows 10. It is a free download.

7.Web Site Downloader

Use Web Site Downloader to download webpages, graphics, audio, and related content. The software puts your files in folders just the way they are on your website so that they are easy to find. You can customize Web Site Downloader to do exactly what you tell it to do. The software also has a filter feature you can use to tell it what not to download.

Web Site Downloader is compatible with Windows 7 and earlier.
